Eye To Eye

by Taylor   Jan 3, 2014

Dear Mom and Dad, maybe you'll listen now
Or maybe you never will, you've never heard me anyway
You promised you'd accept whatever path I chose to take
And you're now threaten me to take your road or go away
I've tried making you happy, but I've run myself down
I'm against the wall, I'm falling apart, I can't do this anymore
To think you would support my choices was too far fetched
I've got tears in my eyes, and you're both showing me the door
We'll never see eye to eye, you don't know what it's like
Mom you just don't care, Dad you're making me cry
Get in my face and scream, I know I'm a disappointment
I almost wish I had the courage to give a final goodbye

If there was a word for "Wow" and "Ouch", then I'd probably use it here (maybe wowch?). At any rate, this is a fairly good poem, and what it expresses is quite the very basic end of childish aid, with the expectance of the ability to find your own road, to stand on your two feet or to soar through the sky in a glorious harmony (Damn, so many ways to express this differently, I almost wish I'd have wrote something about this).

I like this poem. I definitely understand it, and it reminds me of when I first started writing poems when I was younger. Good work.
