Red Envelopes

by Saerelune   Jan 4, 2014

My aunt gave me twenty euros
ready to ambush
within a red envelope.

We preach unity,
like gluttonous rice balls.

As we stare at fire crackers
that haunt away -every- ghost,

my mother gave back fifty euros
to my aunt's daughter, blackmailed
into a golden-lined envelope.
