And God said, "Let there be light." -

The walls of the domain only appeared to climb higher and higher,
So that her fingers grew rotten and bare to the nerve,
From her constant attempts of fresh air; light;
Just for anything outside of the cobblestone garden
That only seemed to sprout mold.
She had no choice but to grow accustomed to it; blend in with the decomposed; the decomposing.
Being in the dark for so long had only allowed her to start making out shades of pitch black,
In the solitary oasis that was meant for her colours to flourish once again.
Never should she have told word of feeling detached.
Her parents went through great lengths to care for their child,
In the hopes of redeeming her vivid nature in these fortified shadows.
But they've passed now; and so had she.

-; And there was light.
