Life's Illusions (Villanelle)

by Michael D Nalley   Feb 1, 2014

Sad to see a setting Sun
that has no hope of rising
when each passing day is done

We look for light, there is none
as many are realizing
sad to see a setting Sun

Setting and rising are one
it should not be surprising
when each passing day is done

Partly perceived truth is spun
because doubt is arising
sad to see a setting Sun

When my race is almost run
I will be compromising
when each passing day is done

Life lost, but if grace is won
blind sensationalizing
sad to see a setting Sun
when each passing day is done

^^nice comparison of sun with your darkness.
hope is the main thing we have to keep until the end, then definitely it will rise again.
I think your race is still incomplete..
    Nice write.
