Brittany, I really enjoyed this as I've never read anything quite like it so it's rather unique which makes me want more from you.

Dying for your love
Like a man fights for his country

A very powerful start and we all want love but to compare it to a man fighting for his country shows how much you want this.

My heart was the battlefield
Your love was the gun

I love this parts it doesn't really give anything away so could be interpreted in 2 ways that je shattered your heart with his gun (love) or he targetted it and made things alright and o believe we will find pit throughout the poem.

Your kiss the trigger
Damn, baby you shot me down

It's obvious you kissed him and enjoyed it which is one of the reasons you like him. Maybe his kisses were the best, who knows :)

You didn't utter a sound
