In waiting (with love)

by Robin Egg Blu   Feb 11, 2014

Today I stay in waiting.
There is no lady involved.
My heart is the only puzzle,
I believe you have yet to solve.

The meaning to every story,
of every line I sing,
is really quite extraordinary.
Can you really not see,
I am breaking apart at the seams?

I am excited when I see you,
sorrowful when you are away,
I get angry when she is around you.
When I have to be away from you all day.

I am all over the place and have no way to explain.
The easiest way to do so,
in the simplest way,
is to say those three little words that mean so much.
Though they are the hardest to say,
so, I write this poem with all the words that I haven't said,
Hoping for you to understand.

I love you.
