A house full of Beasts

by Mindy Karsen   Feb 12, 2014

Ferocious beast will stop at nothing to devour their prey
Impulsive animals they are, pushing, shoving, clawing
Oh how protective over the things that mean the least
Dominance on all their heart, reflected by their every motion
A house of Darwinism cannot please
Respect and humility is unknown
How can this be called a clan?
Somehow I'm different from them
Somehow I'm the same
They call me Maiden, for I am that so
In a house full animals, where am I to go?

I flee to the vineyard, for there I am safe
Protected by its beauty
For splendor there is no regard
Destructive and delusive, is what they are
I feel alone
No one understands
They seems to side with the beasts
They call them blameless, for though they do not see
Watching, waiting for what they might feast
How can anyone survive in a house full of beasts?
