Pretending

by Baby Rainbow   Feb 27, 2014

Pretending the sun is shining
does not stop the rain from falling.
It does not stop the storm from brewing,
and does not stop the thunder roaring.

Pretending there is a rainbow bright
does not fool the blind, for they can
feel the rumbling growl beneath their feet.

Pretending that darkness does not exist,
is like surrendering to defeat.
Danger always lies ahead, even to
those who remain blissfully unaware.

And pretending the future will
always remain yours, does not
stop time from passing, and does
not stop fate from dealing what
is meant to be.

Pretending, does not change
the truth of today.
