This one spoke to me a lot. You wrote this from your heart and I can tell. I really loved the title because poetry is always supposed to be raw. I personally don't love metaphors because they muck up a poem. This is a great message. I liked the character you used. It's like they are narrating their own life and talks about the poetry from their own soul. Poetry is all about emotion and heart. When we become sad or angry writing is a great tool or outlit to cope with. This is a simple poem but the deeper meaning is so well written. Beautiful saffie! |
We speak from our heart and express ourselves in many different ways. That's what makes poetry interesting. |

So true! Sometimes I think we're all guilty of getting too wrapped up in the technicalities of a poem, but often it's the truly heartfelt pieces which shine through and stand out. |

Really beautiful poem Saff! I agree with all the other commented poets too and I must say you said so much with such simple words, just like how this poem is titled. Loved this ;) |

I agree. Poetry is many things but nothing if not true to ourselves. When we write, we leave a fragment of ourselves and every poem is another window to who we are. Sometimes we hide and sometimes we attempt to change but sometimes we are just ourselves and that is when our poetry becomes us. xx |

I adore Baby Rainbow's simplistic angle she has taken here with this piece. It's an inspirational delight. She focuses on the real and true meaning of writing and how the writing can get twisted within creative and art, in the end.. Hiding the true emotions within the message the writer is trying to express. |

Come back to this every now and then to remind myself that this is what bein a poet is really about, anyone can be one of they goto that true spot in their soul and go blind. |
