Short and finely written,..

So much said with little words each line stands out by itself. Beautiful written

Existence becomes survival,

living becomes a dream,

and the courage to fight

falls asleep in the arms of defeat.

Each line in this write can stand on its own for each one holds truth. It gives me a picture of a person struggling to survive whilst fighting the negativity of life and eventually giving up by "sleeping in the arms of defeat"; that is such a lovely line in a sad way...holding the weight of sadness and hopelessness.

This is such a beautiful and creative idea. Each line really holds their own story that connect to each other well. The word play here is great. We do exist to survive and sometimes life does feel like a dream. Because in dreams we can find happiness but life is not very well. I do like the twist here if we dream to be happy then sleep becomes easy. The whole poem I feel talks about depression or falling into sadness. When we fall asleep we feel safe but it's easy to fall. We mustfight to survive and if we ever do iit's rewarding. Anyways beautiful saffie
