I'll Be Fine (Never Mind)

by Some Random Human   Mar 9, 2014

If I died, would you cry,
would you even notice it at all,
because tonight, it sure feels like,
you don't even hear me when I call,
I have tried, to win the fight,
but I'm bound to take the fall,
it's just not right, it won't subside,
and it's getting harder just to crawl,

Never mind, I'll be fine,
just as long as I forget the pain,
so pour a drink, let me sink,
there's no shelter from the rain,

I can't believe, in anything,
that you say to me today,
you had to leave, now I grieve,
will I ever be okay,
it's hard to see, it's hard to breathe,
since you said you couldn't stay,
there's no reprieve, there's no release,
why'd you leave me this way,

Never mind, I'll be fine,
just as long as I forget the pain,
so pour a drink, let me sink,
there's no shelter from the rain,

Never mind, I'll be fine,
just as long as I forget the pain,
so pour a drink, let me sink,
there's no shelter from the rain,
wave goodbye, pass me by,
I'll try hard not to complain,
'cause what's the use, you cut me loose,
and now I'm going down the drain,

If I died, would you cry,
do you even notice me at all,
because tonight, it sure feels like,
you're ignoring when I call,

Never mind, I'm not fine,
I could not forget the pain,
I poured a drink, just to sink,
but I'm still tortured by this rain...

Amazing piece! I love the internal rhyming.
And 'But I'm bound to take the fall' is very effective as it seems like the speakers already deciding to give up.
    Love it!
