Like to be Likened

I'm the author of the balance
of the heart soul and mind
I wrote this poetry by chance
my audience was as kind
as my fantasy of romance.
So I wanted the pages bound
by my love and circumstance
to share what I finally found
As if experiences could be shared
Of intimate spiritual passion
with the Holy One that cared.
I feel as though I were selected
to be enlightened and humbled
while I felt completely rejected
as my life became horribly jumbled
I discovered who I wanted to be like
by the Spirit that was always there
not before cupid entered my psyche
delivering a cross I needed to bear
