Beasts

Locked away
venom burns
toxicly
words, they hurt

all inside
don't let it go
a biting rage
don't let it show

hold my tongue
can't give in
hold my temper
it won't win

just slipped up
words like ice
spoken quickly
leave a slice

bleeding heart
the beasts arise
sniffing lightly
those watchful eyes

make a move
show a chink
wall is up?
let it sink

hope is gone
tis out of sight
beasts that haunt
have no right

words once spoke
words that tear
split decision
so unfair

hold my tongue
wont let it go
grit my teeth
wont let it show

cant stand myself
the hurt i cause
darkened wishes
without pause

so oft repeated
why did I?
thoughts are bleated

must hold on
must hold close
this darkness hidden
no one knows

hate myself
but that's okay
