Jaded Hearts Cry No More

by Jenni Marie   Mar 28, 2014

I wandered in the desert
exhausted, starving and
parched, lonliness and
confusion filled endless days
and I yearned to just
finally lie a broken body
down and rest

for my heart wasn't in
this journey anymore
it was too difficult, and
too painful and I
was no longer living,
but simply surviving

{tired...so tired...}

yet...as sunrise approached,
casting a light glow upon
the horizion, a lonely figure
stepped out with outstreched
arms, beckoning me closer
welcoming me into the
safety of a comforting
embrace

and I stumbled as I fell
into those waiting arms
but they never allowed me
to fall, they lifted me up
and held me securely in
a cocoon of love and
appreciation, trust
and honesty

and the heart that was
tired and jaded
felt a spark of hope
ignite within as it realized
all this time it was just waiting,

for you.
