Injustices (Human Beings)

by Roses Bleed   Mar 30, 2014

Cruel people don't look outside of their windows,
And you'd think they'd know where the orphans go,
What death looks like, screams of fright,
Or why children cry and women scream at night.

You'd think that everything that they held so tight to,
Would be everything they stood for.
You'd think what they do,
What they'd want, was more.

You'd think that those women who were hurt as little girls,
in the worst ways of this cruel world,
They'd want more than just empty promises or awkward morning afters.

You'd think that nights spent in a cold facade of intimacy,
Would be enough to show them they were missing everything.
You hope, as you watch them fall apart,
That what little bits were left of their heart,
was already broken.

You wish, as you see numerous scars and bruises,
and hastily made lies and excuses,
That the child would grow stronger,
Find what they were really worth,
Instead of listening to the words that were screamed at them longer.

As you look at the hurts of these horrible injustices,
You see fathers with perversions,
Uncaring mothers with their own vices,
Low grade buildings with lonely orphans.

You realize that short words,
are the ones that hurt.

Fear,
Rape,
Cruelty,
Hate.

They are all filled with negative connotations,
But anyone who hasn't felt them themselves,
Cannot fully grasp the meanings of these diction,

These words that are only used for "special cases",
By the people who grimly speak to a camera with no real empathy.
With no thought of fear or hatred,
No craving to make things better, to respond with sympathy.

Do you hate those that I describe,
Think it all cruel,
that those who have the means, do not provide?
What do you do?
