The Shrews!

by Bonaventure Onuabuchi   Apr 3, 2014

Brave pernicious little creatures,
birthmarked with long-pointed spouts.
Skilled of the night, sillies in the light.
Thy days light fade in the forage for feed;
baffling in favour of hefty appetites.

Will ever thou quit thy cunning awful,
Repelling predators with thy musky odour?
Fox of members of thy own species;
parasites to distinguishable breeders.
With thy venom of immobilization,
they preys quit on their run.

Why are thou discarding communal living?
Cos' from thy scents come the existence of small territories
demarcating thee from thy fellows;
That thou thought sidestepping war!
.... Which thou liesth!
'Cos unity is the peaceful fight against war.
Truth about your indulgence,
Is fear of thy own badness
