Cheap Apologies

by Baby Rainbow   Apr 4, 2014

Meaningless roses
I send you back with my love,
for my forgiveness will not be bought
with priceless petals on a stem.

Second chances are lessons learned,
and I have been taught well
by past mistakes.

I hope you learn from yours.

So much has been said about this piece, but it is well written and there is a lot of emotion within the simplicity of this. Extremely well written. I really enjoy the strength and way your voice comes out within this write. Nice job

We all make mistakes in life and some of us try and learn from them and others don't.
When we care for somebody and they hurt us in some way and even if they feel sorrow we still have some doubt. Flowers are nice but sometimes we feel it comes with some guilt. We just have to learn to let go and move on. Well written with a great message

This is such a great poem saffie overall.

First stanza- I get the sense of hurt and heartache here. This person was hurt by another person who loves them and the main character has moved on it seems. Though there is sadness here I loved the use of roses. Roses are a symbol of love and romance and they bring the poem a sense of softness and light to such a somber time in a person's life. I loved how you stood up for yourself as well. It takes a ton of courage to do this as well so you show strength and courage as well.

Second stamza- It's always great to learn from our past when we go through what we do. I sense this person is slowly recovering and getting more and more happy overall. All we can do is learn and move on. Anyways. The last line shows me this person still cares about this person and it's always hard to let a person go who we have known a long time or even been with. Anyways. The message is great because it tells us that no matter how difficult it is, sometimes all we can do is move on to grow as a person.
