Vices Versus Virtue

by Michael D Nalley   Apr 8, 2014

It has been said
revenge is sweet
one wolf's been fed
enough too eat
while another
like a mother
loving and kind
to not be blind
denies vices
in sacrifices

It's been a while I read from your very mature pieces. I had to read this more than once to fathom what you're trying to convey.
My little head says you're talking on how mans conscience is projected with decisions regarding vice and virtues.

I always see man as an altruistic being. However, that depends on an individual's family orientation, environmental factors, personal ideals, education and a belief that gives you an identity. Humans are animals, but animals that do have a conscience to think and make decisions that are right and wrong.

Due to our diverse experiences and background, our judgements diversifies us invariably. Nevertheless, our core elements can't be scraped off from us. With that, I can say revenge obviously is sweet, when karma acts upon your cause. You don't have to commit any scandal or reprisal attack to achieve your goal.

Whereas, other instances, we find ourselves tending not to act upon any unfavorable circumstance we're subjected to. We just bear the consequences and just let go. And such decisions mostly arise from the person involved, his/her influence in the society and what have you.

I always believe in letting God fight for your cause. Although, that doesn't mean you let someone trample upon you because you're letting nature takes it's cause.
Life is a teacher, we learn day in, day out. We all react to situations differently. My motto is to always have faith and let go. Karma is real, try to live a purposeful life and your deeds will surely exonerate you.

A great write. Deep as usual of your poems. Very distinctive from other writes. Thanks for sharing.
    God bless!
