NOH8

by Gianna Cranston   Apr 8, 2014

Their eyes stare with judgement
Their mouths curl in disgust
They condemn us without knowing us
because in their bibles they trust.

We're no better than the murderers and rapist that fill our jails
They call us sinners and demand justice, that's how they spin their tale.

They cry that their book tells them we're a crime against nature
That our "choices" condemn us to hell
Since when did who we fall in love with become a choice?
I refuse to buy what these churches are trying to sell.

What business is it of yours who I decide to marry
The weight of your hate is a burden I refuse to carry
I promise my love life is not a personal attack on your beliefs
If everyone could just release this tension and let love and understanding in
all would feel instant relief.
