Supernova Shot Glass

by Sean Allen   Jul 5, 2004

In my eyes,
In my soul,
The Hatred burns me cold.
Bottomless was my pride.
Please Lord
Deliver me
So that I may hide.
Why must I
Take this pain?
Suffering amongst them all.
Silently, I cry
For those who cannot
Find the light.
O the fear!
Hold me tight.
Out of the darkness
I am slain.
Chill my bones
With rancid rain.
Judge and Jury,
Can you find
Your verdict?
The end's in sight;
Let the judgment fall
Upon those who earned it all.
Resounding silence
Surrounds my mind
Helping me to find
The ending
To this story
Of mine.
Supernova
Drink your fill.

Got to second Aken Sol's comments. Very enjoyable, and I think one of the great things was the title. I'm always fumbling around for even a decent title, let alone a good one. And yours was catchy, especially considering the poem.

Great poem Sean. I also liked how even though it was unstruvtured, every few lines rhyme.
