Great minds think alike haha. Mine was kinda like this but you went into so much more detail and I nominated this one was well. Your poems for this contest were so stunning including this one. I love poems that make you immersed in the scene and this one does well :). Clearly you tried to write about a guys emotions and overall you did a good job in each stanza to show that nervousness in this. Each stanza grows into the story and you also did a great job showing the scene. Like the person looking at his phone and the clock. And it's very relatable. I think when we depart on a new journey that first step is always the hardest and it seems like he is making a big step to change his life. I liked how you mentioned the girl too. "Amanda" could be a number of people more likely a love he is going to meet. :). Anyway. As I said this poem is visually stunning and so well written. I slso believe this one can win.
