As your editor, I swear to you I will be a voice that advises you in times of doubt. I promise I will help you correct your mistakes as you make them. I'll review with you, show you new ways to see what you have done. I will always be there when called for, solving problems in your writing, and in your life. |

I initially wrote this in a less poetic form when I was fourteen, and trying to convey to a close friend of mine how my job as their editor and my job as their friend were one and the same. Two years later, I found it in a word file, updated the terminology and tried to reword it so it would sound poetic with the natural accentuations of speech, then submitted it for review.
