See it to believe it.

by Thundersrose   Apr 26, 2014

Mind over matter,
it's plain to see,
how beautiful life is,
why won't you believe?

Look past the day to day,
the grind and the gruel,
find something to admire
because not to, would be cruel

Watch the morning sunrise,
disturbing the dark,
breaking through with new hope,
a new day and a new start

Feel your feet brush against the pavement,
get that spring back into your step,
it's not far away now, that feeling
but it's early days yet.

Close your eyes on the coast line,
let your toes sink into gold,
slide a shell into your pocket,
a gentle reminder to hold

Release your worries into the water,
skip along to a beat,
leave your tears in the ocean
but breathe it all in before you retreat

When your fragile mind is clouded,
weary with inconceivable strife,
I will tell you to think of the rising sun
and appreciate the beautiful treasures of life.

First poem in a long time, all comments/suggestions very welcome.
