Ethos

by Maple Tree   May 25, 2014

In the corner,
risen from a sunshine
salute,

I applaud morning-
Dawn is my lover,
her night shades
cloak shadowy
scars, dew drops
soothe a rooted
soul from depths
beyond a rising
suns reach.

Moon,
You kneeled
to me when others ran-
I was not forsaken
by your love,
for that I am
truly grateful.

Nature of mother-
Devoured a soul,
feeding, nourishing
an ageless pain..

I was buried upon moss
covered compost,
pale skin made love
to spiders of the night
and only a true believer
of nature will understand
just how passionate
that moment can be.

I rise upon a hillside,
wild flowers in hair,
wind at feet,
releasing a toxic
soul to glisten,
radiating love,
just like the
day I was
born.
