Presence.

by Poet on the Piano   May 26, 2014

Sailing in the sky,
you save snapshots
of the sun so you
aren't left
forgetting
what was golden.

You are a raspy
ballad, a shard
of inhaled memories
never proudly
owned-
you have legs,
though you fail
to remember
how to stand.

The horizon is
where you fly
for love,
escaping fate
by refusing
to live on
foundations.

I cry out for you,
that your presence
will soon
be present.

Listening to Coldplay's new song "O" from Ghost Stories. It's a very thoughtful, melancholy song that I've fallen in love with, as I have had it on repeat for half an hour now. Simple lyrics but they are pensive, especially with the piano melody.
