The One That Used To Lie There

by Some Random Human   Jun 15, 2014

I'm pleading, and bleeding,
I can't stop this needing tonight,
'cause you're not by my side,
I'm hoping I'm coping,
but can't stop this choking inside,
it strangles me so tight,
I'm frowning, and drowning,
this pain keeps surrounding my mind,
I'll never be alright,
I'm sighing, and crying,
I sure feel like dying this time,
it's just too much to fight,

So when I wake in the morning,
I just break without warning,
and I feel like ignoring the day,
just pretending that I'm okay,
and when I see all the faces,
they all seem, oh so wasted,
'cause they can't bring repair,
from the one that used to lie there,

I'm waiting, and hating,
all this contemplating, and I,
I can't take this life,
I'm tripping, and slipping,
but your hold's still gripping me, why,
is there no escape from this plight,
I'm crawling, and calling,
you just left me falling in lies,
now I don't think I'll survive,
I'm breaking, and shaking,
this heart can't keep taking goodbye,
I'm just barely alive,

And when I wake in the morning,
I just break without warning,
and I feel like ignoring the day,
just pretending that I'm okay,
and when I see all the faces,
they all seem, oh so wasted,
'cause they can't bring repair,
from the one that used to lie there,

This feeling is killing,
you just left this chilling inside,
where my heart used to reside,
this dreaming and screaming,,
I can't stop from streaming my mind,
why did you leave me behind,
this yearning and burning,
that won't stop from turning my life,
into a hell I despise,
this painful and baneful,
and oh so disdainful reprise,
is leading me to my demise,

Now when I wake in the morning,
I just break without warning,
and I feel like ignoring the day,
just pretending that I'm okay,
and when I see all the faces,
they all seem, oh so wasted,
'cause they can't bring repair,
from the one that used to lie there,

So when I wake in the morning,
I just break without warning,
and I feel like ignoring the day,
just pretending that I'm okay,
and when I see all the faces,
they all seem, oh so wasted,
'cause they can't bring repair,
from the one that used to lie there,

I'm pleading, and bleeding,
I can't stop this needing tonight,
'cause you're not by my side...

This had such a wonderful rhythm and flow I found myself humming along as I read it, trying to find a tune.
Much like Ben, to me they feel like powerful lyrics that beg to be set to rock music.
    Great write. :)

I lack the musical talent to do so, but I definitely had a rock tune in my head.

Love this. The internal rhyming and flow is brilliant. I feel myself hiding along as I've been there but haven't we all?

    I like this a lot.

The internal rhyme and flow throughout are excellent. It's funny, as I read it, I could almost imagine this being the lyrics to a rock song. You don't play guitar do you?lol

Take care and all the best,
    Ben

I do not play guitar, but I do consider my writings to be lyrics. Can't sing either, though.
