Don't Leave

Already gone from this world
Sunshine nor moonlight can shine bright enough
To enlighten my darken soul anymore
Her voice is the only key
To unlock hidden joy locked away in a little necklace
That she wore every day
Till the day she died

She mummers happy words
Inside my skull
I listen happily for once
After a long year of silence
& mourning
Playfully she reminds me of our games
She'd start by telling me
She missed me
Then she'd start a guessing game

I won the first game
Now it was her turn to guess
"It's simple my love"
I said

It's a thing that I don't want
To ever let go of again
It would always crush me if gone
Now guess what the object is
I'll give you a hint
It's something we both know
But it's no longer alive

She ponders it for a while
Thinking every little hint through
Smiling she says
"Is it me?"

I smile back & say
"Yes my love
Please don't ever leave me again
It hurt too much to see nothing
By my side
Please don't leave me empty again
I promise I'll do everything right
This time around...

There is a lot of wonderful emotion and imagery in this piece. I don't think I have read anything from you that can truly be described as happy, but you do sadness best, and even though there is love and peace in happiness within this piece the ending still hits as sad and I think you have done that well. The piece feels a little long like you are just trailing on, but it feels so personal that I can't really not like it or say there is any less skill or beauty because of such.

Well written. I really enjoyed reading this.
