This is such a deep and powerful poem, it flows really well and does not stumble from one place to another, the tone remains deep from start to finish, longing for peace, which never seems to find you. The despair and tiredness of the this pain that seems to be your shadow, is evident in the words, and you took the reader on this journey with you, to show them exactly what a day in the life of yourself may be like.

The connection I feel between the poet and the words in the poem were very strong, very heartfelt and personal.

    Good work.

      Thank you.

The way I see it, we all bear masks outwards and carry myriad shadows, representing who we want to be perceived as and who we truly are. My greatest Shadow is indeed the despair, the chaos: the peace that eludes me always, often unwittingly by my own actions.

This is one of my Shadows. I guess my view is inspired by the idea of personas from Carl Jung.
