Remembrance

by Blood of a Lion   Jun 30, 2014

--Originally was going to post as two separate parts, however I decided against it, it is a wall of text, but I've never really been one for short things.--

Its the lie you tell yourself to stay alive

Its the pain you hold inside to keep,
Like two strangers who once betwixt as lovers,
Ambient echoes of ones old love,
Tis enough to keep you sane?
Or do the scars truly ache?
Slow and unquestionable is the gait,
Yet you hold it closer than fair maid.
One so cold as winter's doom,
Yet thy flesh be hewn in two.
Thy beating heart no longer,
Once if, and only you knew,
Thy dragging soul it burns for you,
Fiery torment upon a heart,
Turns it thus to ashen dew.

For all accounted and all remarked,
I am nothing, if not a bleeding heart,
Still beating to somber tune of er beauty,
Tis true.

Evermore let my soul and heart know,
That in this moment of distant anger,
There is only love for one so true,
Let thy aching fire cease,
Let thy beauty fade from me.
For only pain truly does one impart,
Even in cold unwitting lines bequeath,
Thy inner thoughts and er choices,
I am but man and flesh.
Yet my sins run deeper truly,
So saith my breath.
Cold upon my touch,
Distant in mourning.

Dead and full of lies,
Yet lies so true they quake inside,
Removing what remains.

Lies and deep unsettled pain,
Is it really all the same?
Why is pain inspired upon thy mind?
Does thou bare no happiness to be found?
Let such darkness begone from here.
Only darkness and depravity is what you fill in your pot..
Let not anger cloud and cleave to everything you do.
Deep anger is what thy foolishness has created!
Unwise mere child is thee!
Thoughts so deep they dwell only in the sea?
Only time will tell,
So truly thus forego the pain you create for thine self.
Remember jokes and laughter as well,
For loneliness is a sad man's friend,
Yet laughter fills even the most depressed with gladden tales.
Once so wise,
Once so proud.
Nothing more than sadness filled to the brim.
Drink your cup of pain,
and drink to your fill!
Get over thy anger you so rightly feel.
Be happy dear one.

That I even remember you still.

I agree with you on not making this two separate pieces, it has more of a flow and impact as one solid thing. It really isn't all that long either, i mean the vocab you chose made it a little bit more on the lengthy side and it also made it feel like it was a lot more than it was in actuality, but honestly i like the effect.

since i mentioned the vocabulary let me also say that the word choice here was wonderful for this piece, it really brought the theme out.

there is a lot of personality here and i really really like the way that your voice shines in this piece. well written, great job.

even though you put this in the sad section there is hope shining through as well.

Thank you kindly. I was sitting up all night writing different things (still haven't slept yet) and this felt deep, deeper than a lot of things I've been writing lately. But thank you
