Regarding A Dream

by Skyler   Jul 4, 2014

I spent the daylight at your side
I spent the moonlight in your arms
The blushing smile you tried to hide
Gave fruit the effort of my charms

I woke to greet you with a kiss
And run my fingers through your hair
My eyes opened to a scene amiss
You, my dear, were never there

I like poems that start off to be real, and the twist is that they came from a dream. I think it adds to the emotion behind the poem, and in this case, the point that the love was missing, which adds a hint of sadness.

Nicely worded, very beautiful flow which matched the theme.

    Well done
