The Next Day

by Beautiful Chaos   Jul 13, 2014

I'll figure it all out one day
Life, love, people
Then I'll die the next
I don't think I could live with all that knowledge

We all want truth
Until we get it
Then we wish we were not smart enough to feel it
Absorb it

Oh but how we love to spew it
Savage in defense of our hearts
Truth becomes a weapon
Malicious eradication of thought and feeling

Death by love is surely one of the cruelest
Killing who you are, what you trust
Polluted by everything you never wanted to believe
Twisted inside this barbarous reality

I already know more than I wish to
Feel more than I want to
And death, it's inevitable
No matter how we fight it

Strong wording in the poem, quite raw as to what life is, and what we take from it, It is so true that we often spend far too much time seeking the truth, and we never really think of what that truth might be, because sometimes when we get it, we don't like it and wish we never heard/knew it.

I like where you took this poem.

    Good work,.
