Vacation Retreat (Ottava rima)

by Michael D Nalley   Jul 18, 2014

I'd love to go to Holy Lands, in my heart,
When turmoil ceases, and the peace has returned
Where my dear love will never have to depart,
At a place in time where people have yearned
For the way things should have been from the start.
Our spirit's longed for the point of lessons learned.
A pilgrimage to earth in which my folks rest
Consecrated sacred ground, paradise blest.

This really is a beautiful poem. The rhymes were outstanding I feel overall. I think in our hearts we all want to go to a place like this. Where we can all live in peace and free from war or hatred. I also loved your love line, as we never want to lose our loves. I believe the title fits perfectly because the place you describe is like a "vacation" of sorts. Only this place you never have to leave. I think you might be talking about heaven which is a paradise. There is a very relaxing feeling I get from this. Great write!

^ that's another line that caught my attention it's quite nice to read and it's true the life we lead will take us to different journey and with that we get new lessons every day.

    keep writing :) 5/5
