Karma's Design

This is so accurate, I love it. Karma is always the third person in any situation but everyone forgets about her until it is too late. Usually it's when something bad happens to the person who deserves it and then they 'play victim' like they are always innocent and never deserve any kind of retribution. It's sickening how often I see it.

"A plan to bestow powerlessness
upon those who steal
from the innocent."

-This stanza makes me think that this poem is more so about the karma that child abuser's will face. They lavish in the fact that they steal all of their innocence...and never think of the consequences Karma will deal out until she has already done so.

I agree with Kakera, this poem definitely has despair within it's lines, like you are praying that these people will meet karma soon and will be dealt the hand they deserve.

The ending definitely sounds vindictive to me. I can almost read it with a sneering laugh, ya know?

I agree with Beautiful Soul, karma really is an interesting topic. How bad things happen to good people, good things to bad people, and how it all evens out in the end.

I also agree with him on how it feels like you wrote this with either someone, or something in particular in mind. But I'm not quite sure on that.

The voice of the poem has a very well defined character though. It seems vengeful initially, but I don't think that's quite it. It feels more like despair to me after reading the poem a couple of times more. I'm not convinced that the person in the poem is certain in their belief in karmic retribution, but rather that they are driven by hopelessness into a corner of having to WISH it to be so.

Overall though, this is a really great write. The structure works perfectly, and the lines all have impact.

"Karma delivers bombs upon those
who collect confidence and smiles
from victims who have been through hell. "

in particular. The last line hits really, really hard, and it's from that line on that I feel more despair than vengeance in this poem. It feels more like a prayer to yourself, so you can keep on walking. As if you NEED it to continue to go on with your life.

Karma is a very interesting topic. I think most people don't realize it is happening or choose to ignore it when it does and think its just a bad day. With this poem i t seems like you were angry at someone and you let your feelings out. Maybe you thought of a bad memory and karma was on your mind. I do like the "voice" of this piece though. It seems like you might have stood up for the people who have been hurt by reassuring them that karma is on your side. For all the people who have been hurt by someone. The last stanza I think is my favorite because it wraps up the poem. Using happy is very clever. (Intentional or not). It's ironic really because when karma strikes no one is happy. Very well written poem. 5/5.

Ha! I love this. Yes karma has a way to enter
even the purest of the soul and teaches how to destroy when revenge comes into the picture. Excellent write!
