Ascension

by ephemera   Jul 20, 2014

Tired limbs embraced in in the languid milk
of the still lake
A cradle to take the weight away
of tired eyes and late nights
When there was too much and sleep
refused to take the burden away

Eyes close and breath slows
Weightless as you once were
Held in suspension
Waiting for existence to the world
Silence amid the reeds
As fog rises

Reflection and self as one
Sky and trees gaze into your mirror
As you soar through their ghostly portrait
Until all sorrows sink to the depths of the lake
And you ascend renewed

5/5.Loved the title of this poem so appropriate.

    And you ascend anew.

Sleep after the tiring job makes you fresh to start anew climbing higher towards your goal to nurse ......

The flow and the tone of the entire poem is excellent ,one can feel your depleting energy due to late nights .

    Profoundly penned
