Too Little, Too Late

by Lu   Jul 23, 2014

I searched for words of wisdom
to console my emptiness
but my mind stuttered and rebelled
and my reality was born.

Nothing existed anymore
between moments and years.

You-Me "Without an - Us",
a thing once so uniquely comparable
to drawing a square without lines
or living forever

Nothing existed anymore
between the sun and the rain

And although they came as a faint whisper
I knew "I" had spoken them
because my heart heard them too
"Sorry, too little, too late"

A wonderfully written piece, penned with such melancholy. Well done and all the best

This is such a sad heartbreaking piece. The words you have used make the reader feel your emotions.

    You-Me "Without an - Us",
a thing once so uniquely comparable
to drawing a square without lines
    or living forever

To lose this feeling makes you feel so all alone.
After feeling like one for so long.

    Nothing existed anymore
between the sun and the rain

I loved these lines it leaves the reader feeling empty.
    Wonderful write.
    Take care Cindy
