Summer Heat (Rictameter)

by Maple Tree   Jul 23, 2014

Summer
breezes melt my
feverish lips with cold,
frozen ice cubes of perfection
leaving me floating upon a cloud of blue
for the sky is my soft playground
when I've quenched my thirsty
desire's of
Summer

You do such a wonderful job with your nature poems, and this is no exception. I like the feel and style of this. You really created a winter, cold, cool feel in the middle of summer and incorporated emotion (though I cannot tell if that was exactly intentional or not). Anyway, I really enjoyed reading this piece, and these two lines really caught my attention:

"leaving me floating upon a cloud of blue
for the sky is my soft playground"
