This also invoked much natural emotion in me with the sad, yet beautiful imagery

I always love reading your nature pieces and this one did not disappoint. It holds so much meaning within it. We all love to focus on the beauty of nature...the forests, lakes/oceans, mountains, animals, flowers, etc... we appreciate the beauty as a whole but not as an individual. It's always it's "just a bird" but no one ever stops to think that if every one thought that way, if everyone killed a bird, a tree, a flower thinking it's just one, what will it hurt? ....there wouldn't be any nature left for us to enjoy.

The imagery without the whole piece is wonderful, as always. I see the small blue jay, her once vibrant, velvet wings now drenched with water creating a matted look and then the fisherman glancing at it for just a second and thinking that since it is 'just a bird' it is no significance to him. Very sad.
