Love on The Rocks, or what? ( Saffies' Prompts )

by Everlasting   Jul 26, 2014

I'm letting go of the helium tank.
Out of this gas, I call love.
It pumps me up like a balloon
Until I feel like a flying dove.

Then into the land of dreams,
I wander off
to live in clouds, in its streams.
Till later, I become lost.

Why does love pumps us up?

It makes us fly to a tune of one
Two lives, intertwined
Getting lost in each others eyes,
We become blind.

The world feels like a Ferris wheel.
With fireworks in the sky
But really, it's just Israel
bombing Gaza, people's lives.

Some say, it was the Hamas
Who attacked the Israelites
They claimed it was defense, for god's sake, oh Allah
Israel is killing innocents from Palestine

It's like a genocide
Where Civilians pay the price,
But the price of what?
Of not evacuating Gaza's land?

Really, I'm letting go of the helium tank.
Out of this gas, I call love
That pumps me up like a balloon
Until I feel like a flying dove.

I want to stand on the ground,
I want to be between the lines
Where love and war are bound,
Intertwined, one on one,
Two lovers that become lost
In each other eyes,
Blind to money, to greed, to arms
Just lost, like a balloon
Flying off, high, into the sky.

I'm letting go of the helium tank.
Some other people need it
More than I am.

Prompts:

Love on the rocks
letting go
between the lines
land of dreams
Two lives
