When a heart is heavy.

by Poet on the Piano   Jul 26, 2014

Words can't simply heal, act as an
elixir able to guarantee a perfect love,
when heaviness buries itself in my chest
and I inhale and exhale yet don't
recognize with incredulity that
I am breathing.

Watching you compose, vulnerability
echoing in the apricot forests,
leaves nodding along and trying
to soothe each other's feebleness,
resting beneath trees that refuse to
disregard the beauty of humanity.

Spiritual, the way you summon music
is spiritual, hands held by the Lord
as he guides us all into the mystery of a life
we always despised, never entirely admired.

We are mysteries made to contemplate
the unsung melodies of His mystery.

Beautiful video, and the poem comes to life with the music. You did a magical and wonderful job here. The beauty within each stanza is really nice and so lifelike. You surely were able to capture the mystery of the world and life with your wordings. It made me think about things within my life and look into myself more than I have as of late. You inspire the reader to feel something more by the flow of your piece with the flow of the music it truly is a peaceful wonderment.

Firstly - what a great touching video... it reminded me of Angie and maple lol.

Secondly... well done you for writing a poem based on watching this video. What a great idea, and what a touching poem you created. your poem totally connected with the video, they compliment each other well.

As for your poem, the content is actually quite touching, it is quite sad in ways, at how innocent nature is, and how it still seems to crave and love the beauty in the world and humanity, that humans all feel is not there, or has lessened. I think it shows the gratitude of nature, and how greedy and selfish humans are as a species.

    trees that refuse to
    disregard the beauty of humanity.

    - such an amazing line. I love this wording.

I also liked your description of the apricot forests, it was a really lovely description, one I wouldn't have thought of.

Really great poem, mixed tones of beauty in the nature around us, but also quite philosophical and deep.

    Great job
