Piloting.

by Poet on the Piano   Jul 31, 2014

I
want to marry
a man who orchestrates
thousands of heartbeats
he has never monitored,
mosaics of heroes
he has never crowned,
sounds of children's footfalls
he has never raised.

I
want to marry
a circumnavigator, someone
who can summon ocean life
and is unafraid to cross legs
on the ocean floor
when cerulean coats his vision
and nothing can be
explained.

I
want to marry
a pianist, so that if the world
ever blinds us, we can still
echo history while it entrances
our exposed skin,
and we can match then
freely compose harmonies
while we feel horizons
grace us with meditation.

I
want to marry
someone who appreciates
the transformation of day
into twilight, who can express
sorrow and joy without always
depending on ink,

someone who can inspire
life we never could communicate with,

before.

This was a freewrite, kind of a "hopeless romantic" moment. I did write this while listening to a piano cover of Justin Timberlake's Blue Ocean Floor by a man called The Theorist on Youtube. Truly beautiful and contemplative.
