Bliss (Lanturne)

by Natalie   Aug 11, 2014

Kids
playing
together
in the sunshine,
Bliss!

Lanturne: A type of poetry in which when
it is centered, it resembles the Japanese
lantern. It has a strict syllable pattern of 1, 2, 3, 4, 1.

I'm sure for those who have kids, its nice to see them playing together while you enjoy a cuppa to yourself. :)

As a parent (and my wife can't testify for this) I think all you want is for your kids to be happy. Short poetry to me is difficult to write because of the restrictions. The imagery and flow have to be synchronized. You did well here. 5 lines. Thats all you forced yourself to work with here. And each line is special to you. You start out with kids naturally because they are your heart. Playing could be interpreted as so many things. Inside or outside. Together so it could be a large game or anything like that. In the sunshine to me is the key line, because it opens up the mind. They are playing outside happily. Each individual is happy. With the last line bliss. Great work.
