Religion is not intrinsically good or evil
yet the stars do not decide our path
roots that are strong only withstand upheaval
for so long before succumbing to wrath
the tempest clears the way to perfection
each generation sacrifices all
the strong survive by natural selection
yet each tree is surely bound to fall
