Everyone Must Go

by Brooke   Aug 12, 2014

But you're just a pretty painting on this godforsaken wall, and no one here will love you more than he who dares to fall.

But promises are broken and love can never stay, he will find new women while thoughts of you just fade away.

She will lose herself and the sanity she holds, living lies, her own demise, the truth is bitter cold.

No one can be fixed, not a single soul, subtle lies and distant eyes, everyone must go.

I am very glad you decided to join the site. Welcome!

It seems here you decided to show the "sad" side that love can hold. I like the wording of the first line. You show both sides. Yes this person is "pretty" but they are alone on this wall which has not been tended to. The second stanza holds a lot of sadness and I believe is the "plot" of the poem overall. You love this person but he seems to be pushing you away. The third stanza holds a lot of truth overall. The truth does hurt. No matter what you think about it always will. Everyone must go... I like how vague that is. You leave the ending up to interpretation. It could mean everyone must leave the house so you can be left alone or even death. This poem is well written and is strong. Well done.
