Wowow. This is an amazing short poem Maryanne. It seems like here that you are the character that is described. What a way to start out the poem as well. By showing the reader the imagery, you imagine the beauty inside the world. But you are right in saying I don't think we notice the simple things. Like the animals or skylines. Those simple things can warm a heart. The use of canvas is great! Because an artist has to make time to create a masterpiece but I think you are saying its already there, we just have to notice it. The ending is well, because it rings true. As a society we are too "distracted" by pointless things to notice what is going on around us and in that time is wasted. Excellent!
