The Story of My Star

by Pink Butterfly   Aug 15, 2014

Once upon a time there was me,
in the middle of the night day dreaming.
There was my star far and bright,
dazzling, shining, winning.

But my star grew tired of twinkling,
it refused to shine on me.
It awaken me from my deep dream,
lost in sight, my star I can't see.

My bitter nights, my bitter days,
came consuming the bitter me.
Hanging, I don't know where to fall,
my star refused to fall for me.

Leaving my sky starless, dark and clear,
now I have to rebuild a new.
But not even a constellation can replace
my star who once was true.

My star turned supernova,
I wonder how it feels.
Undergoing the process of dying,
it must have brought my supernova chills

My supernova, I would love to know,
have I ever cared for, liked, wanted?
How does it feel ending our once upon a time
that has not even yet started?

I love the astronomy references throughout this piece, it's a well written poem with a very artistic way of explaining lost love. I enjoyed it very much.
