Three Hearts

by Timothy   Aug 16, 2014

1st verse:
I wake up to another morning and still feel the same,
Beaten and broken, sad, confused and ashamed;
I roll over in bed and kiss her, as my routine goes,
But once I'm out of bed the fairytale starts to decompose.

A wife of many years, and a young woman,
One that gives me comfort and security, and one that makes me feel human;
She's there for me as a sensible guide,
And the other excites me with her wild side.

Chorus:

Three hearts is not a natural thing,
It's like a songbird that cannot sing;
Three-of-a-kind cannot be a winning hand,
Because reality just won't keep up with the demand.

One + one + one doesn't equal a whole,
Because one heart in each hand is more than I can hold;
The burden of all this pain I caused, I bare alone,
Removing myself from the equation, the only heartbreak will be my own.

2nd verse:

Sharing your heart with another woman is not something you plan,
If I knew how to give her up I would feel more like a man;
I see beauty and intelligence in each special soul,
But as wonderful as they are, I just keep digging myself deeper into this hole.

I don't think its really possible to love two people at the same time,
Believe me I have tried, and I am losing my mind;
I wish I had the words, I wish I knew what to say,
But nothings going to erase this, and it's time to pay.

Repeat chorus:

Three hearts is not a natural thing,
It's like a songbird that cannot sing;
Three-of-a-kind cannot be a winning hand,
Because reality just won't keep up with the demand.

One + one + one doesn't equal a whole,
Because one heart in each hand is more than I can hold;
The burden of all this pain I caused, I bare alone,
Removing myself from the equation, the only heartbreak will be my own.

    You are still writing songs and I still like reading them. I hope that one day you can compile all these songs and become a hit! Keep penning...take care :)
