Welcome to the Jungle

by Michael D Nalley   Aug 17, 2014

In the jungle the Lion is number one
it's natural enemies are next to none
A mighty king in its own right
there are few foes it can't outfight
welcome to the jungle though you'd best beware
there are many dangerous animals there

I enjoyed this. It is very true that cliché sayings focus on the lion being the most dangerous animal, yet there are so many dangerous animals out there.

Relating this to real life - I took a very clever message from it. Society always teaches children to beware of strangers, they are dangerous, and yet abuse victims are most likely to be harmed by someone they know, a family member, or friend. And so this poem reminded me of that, and how there are many people that can be dangerous, not just strangers!

^ the its here does not need the apostrophe. You will only need to use an apostrophe in "its" if you are joining two words together. Example: it is. If you cannot make two separate words from its... then it never needs the apostrophe.
