What lurks and tempts.

by Poet on the Piano   Aug 21, 2014

I cannot run any faster,
my physique won't allow it,
these muscles are not that strong.
I cannot drive any faster,
the speed limit is law
but I have broken it before, haven't I?
I cannot smile any longer
nor hold back a reservoir of tears
that imbues a pristine appearance.

I cannot be untrue.

I could go anywhere, until the tank is empty,
I could die in the rays of a fading sun
But I,

won't.

MaryAnne, sometimes these short writes pack the greatest punch and in this case that couldn't be more true.

This piece hit my heart, it is not only powerful in words but in emotions. As if you know there are reckless ways and you can do those things but you won't.

Love this and love you. Hugs xxxx
