There's a new beginning

by SnowdropsFall   Sep 12, 2014

Find her a new beginning.
Give her another story and tear this one up
Hold her hand as she weeps at the altar
Where she married then buried him
40 years since she was 19
And she hasn't aged a single day.

All around her there are tears.
But there have always been tears.
Her son reads the tribute and it moves them
The words washing over her in waves
Painting the past in colours
A master piece she doesn't understand

And somehow she has always worn black
When she was small and un-noticed
He would hold her like a fading shadow
And tell her she was beautiful
And when he plucked out her eyes
She would pretend that she couldn't see

Her hands tremble but its only dirt in them
The only thing she ever threw at him.
