Tunnels of Darkness

by Soulful Ensemble   Sep 17, 2014

Hours feel like days without you,
And I sit around impatiently.
Waiting for the storm to pass through,
So I can see all radiancy.

Rainfall in my heart clouds
The sun that was just here.
The thundering is very loud
But my resolve is not veered.

I stumble, but keep going,
Moving fast and frantic.
Moving towards the glowing--
A light that's small and static.

The dim and murky shadows
Of the somber concrete maze,
Lead me to the narrow
Halls of blacker days.

I'm blind in the confounds
Of these tunnels of darkness.
I can't find the bounds
As I travel through harshness.

I see nothing but you,
As a light in the distance
That calls my name anew;
This is my subsistence.
